UL 746E and UL 94 are often mentioned together in PCB material specifications, but they serve different engineering purposes. This article explains the difference between UL 746E and UL 94 and shows how engineers should evaluate flammability, thermal performance, electrical insulation, thickness and UL recognition when selecting IMS and metal-base PCB materials.
